She might be smiling, but this sweet girl became a cold-blooded killer.

This is Alyssa Bustamante — a pretty, quiet, church-going 15-year-old girl from Missouri who loved writing in her diary and seemed like a normal teenager.
On October 21, 2009, she did something so dark it made national headlines.

What She Did:
Alyssa lured her 9-year-old neighbor Elizabeth Olivas into the woods.
She then:
- Strangled her
- Stabbed her multiple times
- Slit her throat
- And buried her body in a shallow grave
After killing her, she went home, changed her clothes, and acted completely normal.
She even wrote in her diary: “I just fucking killed someone. I strangled them and slit their throat and now they’re dead. I don’t know how to feel atm.”
The Outcome:
She was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison. She was released on parole in 2024 after serving about 15 years, but was sent back to prison shortly after for violating parole.
This case blew up because she was a young, cute girl who showed almost zero remorse.
